is the Editor - in - Chief of the American Journal Of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. He is the Gladys and Roland Harriman Professor of Medicine and Executive Vice Chair of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY.
His research interests include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, lung transplantation, and lung volume reduction. Being a member of numerous societies, including the American Thoracic Society, the European Respiratory Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Fleischner Society has been very rewarding to him as it gave him a broader wealth of knowledge in medicine and research. Previously, he was a member of the American Thoracic Society Committees which generated guidelines for the management of COPD, respiratory infections, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. He was also the former chair of the Clinical Problems Assembly of the American Thoracic Society and also a member of the GOLD Science Committee and sits on a number of editorial boards, including the Journal of COPD and American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

Najib Rahman Directs the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit and works clinically as a pleural specialist. Having qualified in Oxford he underwent the medical SHO rotation at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, and re-joined Oxford as a Specialist Registrar in 2003. He undertook a DPhil and MSc in this period and was appointed Director of the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit and Consultant Lead for Pleural Disease in Oxford in 2011. He was appointed as Professor of Respiratory Medicine in 2018, and is currently running randomized and observational studies in pleural infection, pneumothorax and malignant pleural effusion. He is trained in Thoracoscopy, Thoracic Ultrasound and Clinical Trials methodology, and has published over 300 papers with citations of >6000 and an H-index of 62. He is co-chair of the BTS Pleural Guidelines 2023, Chair of the BTS Pleural Intervention Committee 2023, Chair of multiple ERS guidelines on pleural disease, Senior NIHR Investigator and National Speciality Lead for Respiratory Research for the UK Clinical Research Network.

Professor Morice is Head of Respiratory Medicine at HYMS, based at the University of Hull. He is also an Honorary Consultant Physician at Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Professor Morice specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of cough, and runs the Hull Cough Clinic. He also runs the Hull Respiratory Clinical Trials Unit, specialising in the treatment of asthma and COPD. The Hull Cough Clinic is one of the largest centres within Europe, with an international pattern of referral. Unique investigational strategies provide diagnosis and treatment advances, which are incorporated into national and international guideline documents. Professor Morice has led the European Respiratory Society and British Thoracic Society Taskforces on Cough.
